Get Tix for Pix from Diamondbacks Nation!

Diamondbacks Nation is on the hunt for photos. We need your help to document the Snakes and their fans at Chase Field. In return, we offer the commodity most precious to baseball junkies: game tickets.

Here's how it works --

SNAP PHOTOGRAPHS AT THE GAME. We want shots of the teams on the field, the fans in the stands, whatever images you think are of interest and tell the story of the gameday experience. We prefer high-resolution photos in the .jpg file format.

SUBMIT YOUR PICS TO DIAMONDBACKS NATION. If you have yet to do so, you'll need to register for the site first. Only registered members are eligible to win. Then you can email the images to us, at contest@diamondbacksnation.com. Please include your full name, your username and a phone number so we can contact you.

WIN DIAMONDBACKS TICKETS. We will select the best entry and provide to the winner a pair of tickets to an upcoming game at Chase Field. We'll also include a couple of our stylish "Don't Tread On Me" t-shirts for...

We've got a game to catch, but Diamondbacks Nation would be remiss if we did not take note of the huge news that broke this afternoon: Arizona has been selected to host the 2011 All-Star Game.

Nick Adenhart: 1986-2009

In the early hours of Thursday morning, a car accident in Southern California took the life of 22-year old Los Angeles Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart and two other passengers riding in the same vehicle.

Baseball fans know Adenhart because he has for several years been recognized as one of the better pitching prospects in the minor leagues. He had initially struggled to establish himself in the Los Angeles rotation, but seemed to have made a breakthrough this year. After a strong spring, Adenhart was named the club's No. 3 starter to open the season.

Pitching last night in his 2009 debut, Adenhart threw six scoreless innings. He struck out five Oakland batters and left the contest with a lead. As testimony to his talent on the baseball field, Adenhart's final performance was worthy.

In deference to Adenhart's teammates, Major League Baseball has appropriately postponed the final game of the Angels-Athletics series originally scheduled for tonight.

The death of any young person is...

An Open Letter to Diamondbacks Nation

Howdy.

Diamondbacks Nation has been in the works for more than two years now.  We are conceived not only as a news and commentary website, but also as the broader community of Arizona baseball fans.  Diamondbacks Nation is us ... and you. After some halting, early steps, we (like the team we support) are ready to move boldly forward in 2009.

Some final modifications to the site are being made in anticipation of the 2009 season relaunch. In the coming days, we will unveil an updated homepage layout. We're also working in some new graphics to give the site a unified look and feel. The finishing touches will be in place by Opening Day.

With April 6 fast approaching, we are charged up for the start of the season. The month of April will be huge for the Snakes and for Diamondbacks Nation. The revamped site will feature a mix of regular installments (i.e., series previews, minor league updates), short-form daily notes and longer feature articles.

Our primary focus is on the local...

Diamondbacks Nation Seeks Correspondents

So you're a die-hard Diamondbacks fan?  So you watch games religiously?  So you can write?  Well, friend -- you're just the type we're looking for!

In addition to the incisive and entertaining commentary you've come to expect from Diamondbacks Nation [pats-self-on-back], the founders of this website aspire to feature gameday previews, real-time discussions and insightful recaps for every Diamondbacks game.

That's more baseball 'n writing than two guys with day jobs can handle by their lonesomes.  Consequently, we need your help.

DBN is looking for several dedicated correspondents to contribute to the site.  Each correspondent would be assigned to cover one or two games per week, asked to watch from first pitch to the last out and to write about the game.  The goal is not only to present the major events on the field, but also to describe the details that don't show up in the boxscore.  After posting a brief preview of the day's game, the correspondent would moderate a live...
