Top 5: Snakes with Mojo
Who's feeling the mojo for the Diamondbacks these days? We got our Top 5 right here.
1. DAN HAREN - Can you be a National League Cy Young favorite on a sub-.500 club? Yes, if you're as good as Haren (5 GS, 2 W, 35 IP, 21 H, 5 BB, 36 K, 1.54 ERA, 0.74 WHIP). With any kind of support, he'd be 5-0. His teammates owe him more runs, wins.
2. JARROD PARKER - Arizona's best prospect whipped through Class A+ in less than a month. If his AA performance is as impressive, Parker could be pitching in Phoenix by September. The Diamondbacks won't want to rush the 20-year old right-hander, so Parker must earn it.
3. JUSTIN UPTON - The wunderkind is working counts deep, drawing walks, and making hard contact to all fields. Opponents fear him, especially his arm. That bomb he Upton against Randy Johnson ... has it come down yet?
4. AUGIE OJEDA - His defense has sparkled. He's setting the table with plenty of walks and hits. He has pop to the gaps and enough speed to stretch singles into doubles. Super Augie's hustle gives Arizona a big boost with Stephen Drew on the shelf.
5. MARK REYNOLDS - We gave him a hard time, but Reynolds' glovework is much improved since the Cactus League. He leads the team with five home runs. Ladies love the beard.
